Nine Patch Swap | August

Ehe der August vorbei ist will ich Euch den Block für den Simple Nine Patch Swap nicht vorenthalten. Die Farbwahl für diesen Monat war blau und weiß. Was lustig ist, ist das die anderen Blöcke auch alle in Meerestfarbönen gehalten sind. Wer interessiert ist an den anderen Blöcken findet sie im Patchwork und Quiltforum.

Before August is over I want to share with you this months block for the Simple Nine Patch swap. Color selection for this month was white and blue. Funny thing is the rest of the blocks have an oceanic color feeling to them as well. If you’re interested you can find the other blocks on the Quilt and Patchwork Forum.

Babyquilt Top

Yeah, endlich habe ich die Blöcke von Shivanis Quilt zusammengesetzt. Es fühlt sich echt an wie eine Ewigkeit, die ich jetzt schon an dem Quilt arbeite. (Fühlt sich nicht nur so an, ist es auch.) Aber das Ende ist in Sicht, jetzt fehlen nur noch die beiden äußeren Ränder und das Quilting.

Yeah, finally put the blocks together for Shivanis quilt. Feels like an eternity that I’ve been working on it. (Does not just feel like it, it is.) But the end is in sight. Just the two outer boarders and then it is off to quilting.

Ursprünglich wollte ich ihn handquilten, aber da es jetzt schon so spät ist, denke ich werden es wohl doch FMQ Blumen auf den Blöcken und die Blöcke dann im Nahtschatten noch mal umranden. Es sei denn, dass ich meine Meinung noch mal ändere. ;)

Initially I wanted to hand quilt but as it is so late now, I am thinking of some FMQ flowers on the blocks and then maybe frame the block with a stitch in the ditch. Unless I once again change my mind. ;)

Throwback Tuesday: Garden Flower Quilt

Zurück aus meinem zweiwöchigen Urlaub veranstalten wir heute einen Throwback Tuesday. Ja, einen Dienstag und nicht einen Donnerstag, einfach weil mir danach ist. Ich wollte Euch ein Foto meines Garden Flower Quilt zeigen, den ich bei meinen Eltern im Haus als Sommerdecke nutze.

Back from my two weeks vacation, we are doing a Throwback Tuesday today. Yes, a Tuesday not a Thursday, just because. I wanted to share with you a picture of my Garden Flower Quilt. I’m using is as summer blanket at my parents house. So here it is.

Ich hoffe dass ich nun wieder in einen normalen Rhythmus zurück komme mit meinen Quiltprojekten. Die letzten Wochen war ich ein wenig lustlos, wegen allgemeinem Arbeitsstress und der Hitze, für die ich echt nichts übrig habe. In diesem Sinne, zurück an die Nähmaschine.

I’m hoping to get back into the groove now with my quilting projects. I was rather listless the last weeks due to a busy work schedule and the heat, which I really don’t care for. On that note back to the sewing machine.
