Of kitties, Easter and Table Runners

Am Wochenende habe ich mich endlich meinem Oster Projekt angenommen. Ich hatte noch so viel Stoff übrig vom letzten Oster Tischläufer, dass ich einen zweiten daraus machen konnte, diesmal für meinen eigenen Couchtisch.

This weekend I finally did my Easter project and started on my own table runner. I had so much fabric left over from last year that I was able to do a second one for my own couch table.

Ich liebe die kräftigen Frühlingsfarben von grün, gelb und rot, die fallen richtig auf. Heute habe ich dann noch ein paar Tulpen vom Einkaufen mitgebracht, um dann den fertigen Quilt zu fotografieren und ich muss sagen, die Bilder sehen um so viel besser aus, als letztes Jahr. ;)

I love the bright spring colors of green, yellow and red they really pop out. Today I then picked up some tulips at the grocery store to take some pictures and have to say they look sooo much better than last year. ;)

Ich mag die Einfachheit von weißen Blumen unglaublich, was bracht man denn mehr.

I so much like the simplicity of white flowers, what else do you need.

Hier sind außerdem noch ein paar „Outtakes“, wie Otto während des Shootings versucht hat den Quilt einzunehmen und wie es Rottiger dann 10 Minuten später geglückt ist. Dabei hat er so einen schönen Katzenquilt, den man sogar im Hintergrund sehen kann.

Kosmetiktäschchen

Ich habe mich heute das erste Mal an ein Kosmetiktäschchen gesetzt. Meine Schwester hat letzte Woche um eine gebeten und ich wollte erst mal einen Testlauf starten, bevor ich mich an ihre setze. Ich habe mit 5“ x 9“ Stoffstücken in orange und türkis begonnen. Ich hab viele Bilder gemacht vom Entstehungsprozess und nachdem ich das letzte Bild von der fertigen Tasche gemacht hatte, schaute ich runter auf den Monitor und las die Worte KEINE SPEICHERKARTE. Ahhhh! Ist Euch das auch schon mal passiert? Ich war so frustriert und konnte mich noch nicht mal daran erinnern wo ich die Karte hin gemacht hatte oder wann. Aber dann habe ich sie doch noch gefunden. Hier ist dann also leider nur ein Foto der fertigen Tasche.

So today I tried myself on some zipper pouches for the first time. My sister requested one last week and I wanted to do a test run first on sizes and so. I started with 5” x 9” squares in orange and turquoise. I took lots of pictures from the sewing process and after I took the last one, I looked at the screen and read NO MEMORY CARD. Argh! Has that ever happened to you? I was so frustrated and couldn’t even remember where I had put the card at first and when. Sheesh. But after some searching I found it again. So here’s only a pic of the final product.

Den Stoff für das zweite Täschchen habe ich dann auf 10“ x 8“ geschnitten, was dann eine gut geschnittene Tasche von 9“ x 6,5“ ergeben hat. Ich liebe das Ergebnis. Rot, weiß und blau ist immer eine gute Wahl.

The fabric for the second pouch has measurements of 10” x 8” which made for a good-sized bag of 9” x 6,5”. The outer fabric came from an old pillowcase and I love how it turned out. Red, white and blue is always a good choice.
